Lipstick: A Beauty Essential

We have been wearing lipstick for a long, long time. Research has shown that “[a]ncient Sumerian men and women were possibly the first to invent and wear lipstick, about 5,000 years ago.” Our love affair with lipstick continues. In the United States alone, 133.54 million used lipstick and lip gloss in 2016. The U. S. population of those 18 years old and older in 2015 was 247.73 million. So, about 54% of this population wore lipstick or lip gloss! Statista projected more people will do so through the year 2020.

Mastering the No-Makeup Look

The No-Makeup look is a trend defined by an effortless look.  The summer is a great time to try this look. With temperatures soaring on most days and humidity in the upper limits, lightweight and breathable makeup is the way to go. This video provides information about Avon cosmetics that get you that no-makeup, effortless look.

How to Go From Day to Night With Your Makeup

Focusing on a few key areas is all you need to turn your makeup evening-ready, says Avon’s celebrity makeup artist Lauren Andersen. These five steps will take your makeup from work to play—right at your desk.

1. Wake up faded foundation.

2. Reboot your lashes.

3. Brush on blush.

4. Go big on one feature.

5. Shine on (with shimmery cheeks).

“How to find the best blush for your skin tone”

In her article  (8/18/16), author Jacqueline Yates provides advice for choosing blush all skin tones–from darker to lighter.

I liked the article–it gave practical advice on blushes, Avon included, and covered all skin tones.

Right now,  I’m using Avon “be blushed” pink melon stick. Next: something with a tangerine tone.
